Reflection

“Reflekt” is a music project of Jean Sebastian Fontaine & Julian Ashley Peake – they entered music business with a nice #14 UK Single Charts position for their debut single “Need To Feel Loved” in 2005. In 2010 Adam K from Toronto, Canada has released a super cool remix of this song; especially the first minute of his remix is amazing.

Even on a home keyboard this song sounds great – excellent strings at 3:23 min.

A super cool instrumental version of this song was created by the Youtuber Dasuud in Fruityloops (now renamed to FL Studio after a trademark issue with the Kellogg company). Music meets cerial. 🙂

Beyond the sun

“Sun in your eyes” from Above & Beyond – a song and a photo as if it was made for this blog. 🙂 Sit back and enjoy the sound atmosphere!

A “different” kind of cover version was created by the Youtuber “New Saga” with the little Korg Volca Keys Analog Loop synth – great job!

Poetry music

The German actress Julia Engelmann is familiar with the stage: With experience in theatre performances and a TV soap she became famous with poetry slam.
She took a line of the Reckoning Song “One day Baybe, we’ll be old…” by Asif Avidan,…

…which is even more popular in the Wankelmut Remix,…

… and created her own poem around these lines. The recording of her performance at a university campus made her famous on Youtube with more than 10 million views.

Another poem of her is “Grüner wird’s nicht”,…

…which she now turned into a song with a beautiful meaning. A very cool combination of poetry and music.

Redefinition

After his serious accident in 2016, Paul Van Dyk is now back. In a cooperation he has created a stunning piano atmosphere in his latest song “While you were gone”. The first minute of this song is awesome with the sustained piano improvisation and the soft bass arpeggiator rumbling in the background!

The man at the piano is actually Vincent Corver, a concert pianist from The Hague, Holland. From this classical piano concert it’s not obvious that he will appear in trance music as well.

But bringing both of these completely different worlds together, a new kind of art is created. Vincent describes that his art is about “Redefining Piano Music” – and indeed it is! Check out the original Spotify version because it keeps up the piano magic much longer, for almost 3 minutes.

Mad club

A fascinating home studio production comes from Daniel Brunner alias “The.madpix.project”. I could listen to the instrumental version of his club sound track “When the sun goes down” in an endless loop. Excellent work!

Chartleader

Felix Jaehn is a phenomenon: With his age of 23 he has written several world hits in the meantime. Looking back at his career, the “Cheerleader” remix was his breakthrough. He took the original reggae song of Omar Samuel Pasley (OMI),…

… added a trumpet and transformed it into a nice deep house song which made it a #1 hit worldwide in 27 different charts. His remix is simple and the trumpet is a great enhancement of the song. Fantastic job!

Glowing

Not only the ice perfomance of the Coldplay song “Everglow” is amazing. The song is so melodic, it sounds beautiful in a small room with a piano…

… and in a big stadium like in Munich, where the piano part is actually played by the Coldplay fan Ferdinand Schwartz, who was picked out of the audience (amazing job by Ferdinand!)…

… and it sounds beautiful with a guitar as well, played by James Bartholomew.

Magic sea

On Instagram someone made a video with a magic background music, which caught my attention. Never heard of Porter Robinson before but his song “Sea of Voices” creates a beautiful musical atmosphere. Enjoy!

Oh Yeah out now!

The Youtube video of my latest song “Oh Yeah” is now live! This is my first cooperation with Anna Davis for the title image, which was also used as rendering background for the video.
