The German singer Max Raabe is singing about the perfect moment – which is missed by oversleeping. A great little tune with funny lyrics. The video is shot in Berlin, which can be easily recognized by the Fernsehturm at Alexanderplatz appearing in the background.
Swing Parade
Enjoy my work for the Spinnin’ Records remix contest of the Vinai song “Parade”. The Rihanna-style vocals inspired me to try something completely different this time. Hearing the vocal track I imagined a big ballroom with a singer and a band on stage. So I decided to produce a SWING version of this song:

Funkastarz
No! It’s not a typo! “Funkastarz” is actually the title of a John Christian song on Tiësto – CLUBLIFE VOL. 5 – CHINA.
Splice released the stems of this compilation in the context of a remix contest (#clubliferemixes). The song “Funkastarz” caught my attention because of the very melodic vocoder vocals, so I created a remix.

Nobel Dynamite
Sigrid is fascinating, from a small city in Norway she is now on the way to the top. Regardless of the stage that she is singing on, the emotion and articulation in her music is great.
Recently she played in front of a huge audience at the Nobel Peace Prize concert in her home country. They even arranged support by a big orchestra which makes the song sound almost like a Hollywood movie score. With or without orchestra, her voice is dynamite.
And her energy on stage is amazing.
Music meets parody
The opening theme of the film “Chariots of Fire” is widely known. It was written by Vangelis Papathanassiou in 1981.
A few years later, Vangelis had to go through a copyright infringement lawsuit for plagiarism of the song “City Of Violets”, composed by Stavros Logarides in 1977. When he played the theme in court, the jurors declared his innocence.
During the Olympic Games in 2012, this song was performed by the London Symphony Orchestra and Rowan Atkinson alias Mr. Bean. A wonderful combination of disciplines.
